Jumping for joy in Antarctica—with compliments from the penguins

Gentoo penguins

Jumping for joy in the Antarctic. Photo by Olivia

What are the chances of getting tired of seeing penguins—absolutely no chance at all!

Every day and at every landing, we have had the pleasure and good fortune to see penguins.

We’ve seen gentoos, adélies and chinstraps.

I think this little group of gentoos and adélies were just as happy to see us as we were to see them.

Thanks to Olivia for capturing this amazing shot, and for her willingness to let me share it here.

Stay tuned for lots more news and pics of the Antarctic. We return to Ushuaia and good internet connections on the 9th.

They really do seem to be having fun. And they sure made us smile a lot. 🙂

I see that the penguins have put on their tuxedos just for your photos and the boat passing by! Very good photo Olivia. But where are their bowties? Yes, you can never get tired of seeing them….

Oh Peggy, they are so gorgeous. Could you bring me one home please? I promise not to let Ebony and Zoe near it!! Or maybe you could just post some more beautiful photos. That one jumping out of the water to greet you is so cute!!

They scanned our bags and had the sniffer dog out when we left the ship, so you’ll have to make do with more photos. They’ll be on the way soon.
