Blog renovations—watch this space
This blog is long overdue for an overhaul. It needs to be better organised and more stylish.
I’ll be working on it over the next few weeks (with the help of one of my daughters). Don’t worry if you see it morph into something new and better. It’s not going to stop: it’s only going to get easier to use and easier to look at (I hope).
My plan is to organise our travels by continent, plus some other relevant categories.
Your suggestions, comments and criticisms are most welcome. Let me know what you think of any changes and how I might make the blog better.
Also don’t forget to pick a number before 29 February 2012.
Now this is just my opinion, and I dont have any intention of upsetting anyone
This is just my opinion and I dont want to upset anyone
BUT I wish I had jumped on this blog from day one, the very first day when it kicked off or when preperations started for it:-)
Then to read it in chronological order, without the side trips or add ons (the ones that sort of get added when time and internet allowed)
But saying that, it has been a very interesting read, lots of comments, photo’s, tip’s, advice, costs, things to see and do, visa’s
As this is your blog, you can lay it out as you wish or want (I wont be complaining, just glad to read a blog about this trip) but either way, I look forward to any additions or editing you do

Thanks Derrick.
I hope that when I get done with the overhaul—assuming I ever get done—it will be super easy to navigate. Petra (our internet savvy daughter) has plans for an interactive map and a bunch of other clever things.
And I want to add our African overland from 2009, as well as our travels in Indonesia, New Zealand, the Middle East and more.
Plus, we’re planning a South American overland for later this year.

So, its really going to make interesting reading, and all in order, right from the start of all your travels, so while I am doing my trip, you will be off traipsing South America, and interactive map sounds really good, what are the other clever things planned ?
I think I’d like to read about the travels in the Middle East and New Zealand, Indonesia sounds good as well
Meanwhile we wait with breath bated :-0

Hello,
I agree with Derrick, it was a little hard to read when posts were not in chronological order. For example, I would learn from blogs that you were in China and then read blogs about various travels in the “Stans” which you had traveled to a few weeks earlier… Anyway, I went “with the flow” and managed to figure it all out. Also, I enjoyed Bali and am waiting for some posts… so like the incoming tide “Flow Back” and blog about this beautiful paradise.

Glad you went ‘with the flow’. The travel went so fast sometimes that it was hard to stick to a chronological order. And I can guarantee you the coming posts will be in random order, but a better map should make it easier to follow. I hope!
