Happy Thanksgiving to all and my whereabouts
I haven’t dropped off the edge of the world.
We cross from Argentina to Chile tomorrow and will spend five or six days out of civilisation. No internet, minimal electricity, but I hear there’s a fireplace and hot showers. I’ll try to come back with lots of news and pics.
In the meantime, I want to wish my friends and family a wonderful and joyous Thanksgiving. Have some turkey for me.
Hi Peggy,
Hot showers sound great. Enjoy Chile and Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.

Holiday Joke…
A woman went to her doctor and asked what can she do for her depression. The
doctor said, perhaps you need a companion and you might want to buy a pet
animal. So she went to the pet shop and the owner said he has the perfect pet, a
talking two year old parrot. However, the problem with the parrot is that it
curses to much. The woman did not think much of it and bought the bird.
On the first day home the talking parrot cursed a little. And on the second day,
it cursed a lot more. The woman was about to wash the parrots mouth out with soap
and water, but decided to give the parrot another chance. However, by the third
day it cursed and cursed…. “Holly Shit,” “Get the `F’ out of here,” “You’re a
Bitch,” on and on. So the woman just about had it and grabbed the parrot by the
neck and tossed it into the deep freezer. After 45 minutes, she opened up the
door, grabbed the parrot by the neck and said “OK wise guy, are you going to
curse any more? With the parrot shivering uncontrollably and with a quivering
voice “No, No.” Do you understand that there will be no cursing in this house?
Yes, Yes the parrot said, again shivering from head to toe. Then the parrot
asked if he could ask a question and the woman said Ok, what is it….. And then
the talking parrot said, “What did the turkey do wrong?” LOL
Happy Thanksgiving to all…..

Will do so! Go have the time of your life! There’ll be plenty of leftovers I’m sure.
22-23 Celcius here yesterday so it felt like early Autumn, today more like 14. What’s your temperatures like there? Just curious as you’re in high alpine and very far south so I suspect it’s like the Canadian Rockies in the Summer.

Thanks Dave. We are very, very far south. Our temperatures have been frigid. Near zero overnight and we’re in tents. Brrrr! Tonight it’s a heated hostel! Yay!!!!

Hi Martin and Jan. So pleased to know you are enjoying the blog. I have fun writing it. Am also very pleased to have Rachel on the trip—she’s lovely. We sat together on the truck yesterday and had a great chat. We’ve all been way out-of-touch for the last week or so, and I am behind on blog entries. I’d better go get busy. 🙂
